Change a Day

The sun shines through
My window pane
It wakes me up
To start again

We toiling hard
To fill our brain
The games we play
The bullys pain

We stand in line
We join the class
We wait a while
Our turn to pass

We take it in
What they say
Our minds are filled
For another day

We work our brains
To find out why
that some live well
And some must die

We learn the lesson
Of days gone past
We learn them quick
We learn them fast

We break the day
With play and fun
Our life on Earth
Has just begun

We join the games
The playing field
The acting out
But we must yield

To others’ might
And grownup voice
When we grow up
We have the choice

To follow on
Like every one
Did in the past
How long to last?

Until we see
By following
That we’re as bad
As grownups’ sin

We must brake free
And change for good
And squash the bad
‘Cos we know we should

‘Cos if we follow
Like loads of sheep
Then gronwups’ world
Is ours to keep

Unless we use
The lessons told
And make a world
For when we old

So as I lie
And watch the sun
I know that my
Day has begun

And I have the choice
Like every day
To change the world
For a better way

Tiger

  1. Very nice, Tiger!

I like the idea of a link to the music that you wrote this to. I also would like the music!

Your lyrics fit well and offer an interesting message.

You should do more of these!

I have one I wrote years ago, if I can find the tune, I shall post it.

  2. I jus lissenin to this song by Pinky Floydulatory an I fink it well cool an well sad lyrics. So I fort I put it here!

    "When The Tigers Broke Free"

    It was just before dawn
One miserable morning in black 'forty four.
    When the forward commander
    Was told to sit tight
When he asked that his men be withdrawn.
    And the Generals gave thanks
As the other ranks held back
The enemy tanks for a while.
    And the Anzio bridgehead
    Was held for the price
Of a few hundred ordinary lives.

    And kind old King George
    Sent Mother a note
When he heard that father was gone.
    It was, I recall,
In the form of a scroll,
    With gold leaf and all.
And I found it one day
In a drawer of old photographs, hidden away.
And my eyes still grow damp to remember
    His Majesty signed
    With his own rubber stamp.

    It was dark all around.
There was frost in the ground
    When the tigers broke free.
    And no one survived
From the Royal Fusiliers Company C.
    They were all left behind,
    Most of them dead,
    The rest of them dying.
And that's how the High Command
    Took my daddy from me.

  4. Miley song (its got the most moving lyrics ever!)
    I can almost see it
    That dream I'm dreaming but
There's a voice inside my head sayin,
    You'll never reach it,
    Every step I'm taking,
    Every move I make feels
    Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
    Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
    It's the climb

    The struggles I'm facing,
    The chances I'm taking
Sometimes they knock me down but
    No I'm not breaking
    I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm going to remember most yeah
    Just got to keep going
    And I,
    I got to be strong
    Just keep pushing on, cause

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
    It's the climb

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
    It's the climb

    Keep on moving
    Keep climbing
    Keep the faith baby
    It's all about
    It's all about
    The climb
    Keep the faith
    Keep your faith

It's amazing. my fave song ever!!!!
